For many coaches and clients, the question, “what is life coaching?” can be a difficult one to answer. The description that seems to provide the most clarity is; “Life coaching is like having a personal trainer for your life”. In other words, life coaching is a process that engages the client in achieving a “specific desired result” with the support of a life coach. The life coach usually asks provocative questions that lead the client down a path toward a goal, objective or subject that renders some sort of measurable result or intended fulfilling experience. The most talented athletes in the world, who are the best at what they do, have coaches. Why is that, if they are the best? Every person, I don’t care who you are, has blind spots. What and where are yours? The power and beauty of interacting and socializing with other people is that, if we are honest, every single one of them has a different perspective than yours! Your coach offers just that, to nudge you in the direction of a different perspective.
